A rare piece of history, the Austin Seven Speedy was ahead of its time. With less than 17 produced, it was designed to be a sportier version of the original car, and is one of the Charity’s truly ‘catwalk’ models.

We’re looking after 'Speedy' until its lucky 10-year-old new owner can reach the pedals and has earned his driving licence!

The Butler family have a long-standing tradition of handing Speedy down to the next generation when the lucky recipient reaches his or her 10th birthday. Part of this tradition also includes providing the lucky young person the opportunity to drive the car, under tuition of course, on or as near to their 10th birthday as possible.

Peter's grandson visited Bicester Motion last year and did an admirable job of piloting Speedy around a quiet piece of track under hands-on guidance and supervision.

Speedy took part in last year’s Vintage Sports Car Club's Winter Driving Test, as well as competing in the 2024 'Rally for the Ages'. It has also taken pride of place on the Charity’s stand at Bicester Motion 'Scramble' events.
