At the end of June, 300 Morgan cars and their owners tucked themselves away in the New Forest at the wonderful Beaulieu National Motor Museum. Mogfest 2025 was certainly one for the history books.
During the time StarterMotor has been closely connected to the Morgan Sports Car Club and attended their flagship summer event, we haven’t had much luck with the weather. This year felt quintessentially British – real beaming sun and ‘strawberries and cream’ stuff! My memories go back to a soggy but sensational Brooklands in 2023, and a few light showers last year in Shropshire at the stunning Weston Park. That was until last month where blue skies graced visitors and instead of hiding under umbrellas to avoid the rain, it was to avoid the sun.
Two of the Charity’s Ambassadors set off bright and early in our Morgan Plus 4 (kindly loaned to us by a previous MSCC member), taking a leisurely trip down the A34 towards the south coast. Festivities started soon after our arrival, with convoys appearing in abundance and guests setting up a home-from-home for the day. By late morning there were Mogs as far as the eye could see, with an excited air of anticipation pervading the site.
Throughout the day, Concours judging took place to assess the generally immaculate condition of the cars on display. A gymkhana tested the ability of drivers’ navigation skills whilst dancing around obstacles, and the StarterMotor Car Story Competition provided an opportunity for owners to share the history behind their vehicles and ownership experiences. There were touching tributes and heartfelt memories beautifully composed and shared. The day certainly didn’t lack interest or action.
The gathering was situated in the heart of the Museum’s grounds, so provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Our tickets enabled access to the museum, a visit not to be missed. It also gave an escape route from the heat of the day! The Museum truly is a magical place made even more spectacular by what was on show just outside.
Our longstanding and special relationship with the MSCC and its members is much appreciated by all associated with the Charity. Based on such events and ongoing fundraising support, we highly value our collaborative relationship with the Club.
