For many years, StarterMotor Ambassadors have proudly looked after the Golden Ticket Lawn at Scramble, selecting cars that catch their eye and giving their owners the opportunity to display their pride and joy in one of the event’s most visible locations.
From this October, the Golden Ticket experience is getting a refresh with a new location, greater visibility, increased prestige and more opportunity to get involved.
Introducing the StarterMotor ‘Golden Ticket Concours’
Our young Ambassadors will select 60 motors to take centre stage on Bicester Motion’s prominently located Hangar Green. They’ll be looking for cars that radiate charm, character and individuality, vehicles with that special something that makes them stand out from the crowd.
To be in with a chance of receiving a coveted Golden Ticket, simply submit your application using the form below. Applications close on 10 September, after which our team of Ambassadors will review every entry and collectively select the 60 cars they feel deserve their place on the Green.
Despite the name, this is a Concours with a difference. Selection won’t be based on a car’s badge, rarity, condition, monetary value or gleaming paintwork. Instead, our Ambassadors want to hear the story behind the car and understand what makes it special to you.
Perhaps it’s a well-loved Citroën Saxo that’s been sitting at the back of the drive in a state of perpetual restoration. Maybe it’s a 1953 Morris Minor that was your first car. Or perhaps it’s a Ferrari GTO fresh from Pebble Beach with a prized award. Whatever you drive, and whatever its value, we want to hear your story.
On the day of the Scramble, once all 60 selected vehicles are assembled on Hangar Green, our Ambassadors will choose their three favourites. There’ll be prizes, glory and, naturally, some serious bragging rights up for grabs.

The awards presentation will take place at 2:30pm on the Hanger Green (next to the StarterMotor flags).
Here's a summary of the schedule of events:
26th August - 10th September: Applications open at 09:00 on the 26th August and close at 17:00 on the 10th September
11th - 16th September: StarterMotor Ambassadors conduct shortlisting of display vehicles
18th September: Golden Ticket winners contacted
21st September: Golden Ticket (mirror hangers) posted to lucky recipients
4th October: Bicester Motion Scramble
If you haven’t received an email from info@startermotor.co confirming the successful outcome of your application, unfortunately you haven’t been selected this time.
Rules (Because There Are Always Rules)
- You must already hold a valid ticket for the Scramble on October 4th. Memo: general admission tickets sold out months ago and we don't have any spare, apologies.
- Please submit your application using the same email address used to purchase your Scramble ticket.
- One vehicle entry per email address. We'd love to display your whole garage, but we want to widen the opportunity to take part as far as possible.
- If you're selected for the Golden Ticket Concours, you'll earn serious bragging rights. We strongly encourage making the most of them by sharing the word on social media and tagging us so we can give you a shout-out (@startermotorcharity).
- Selected vehicles must be parked and in position on the Hanger Green by 8:00am sharp on October 4th. If you arrive at 8:01am, you'll be directed to general parking. This is to comply with recent operational requirements and law changes. Sorry, there can be no exceptions.
